Big Mac with special sauce
This Big Mac towers over the original version from McDonald's. Plus, you can enjoy the quality ingredients totally guilt free. I treated myself to these Wagyu beef patties which were on offer from my local supermarket. They were quite fatty, so the burgers were juicy. It is the special sauce that makes this Big Mac taste like the real deal. When I tasted the sauce, I was pleasantly surprised as it tasted exactly like the original version. With some extra sauce on the side, I could dip more into this delicious sauce, and I actually had this as my OMAD, so I fasted 24 hours after that. I felt totally satiated and satisfied.
1. Cut the bun into 3 slices then set aside. You can make the bun taller by using a 3 3/4-inch ramekin, greased and lined with parchment paper at the bottom.
2. Make the special sauce by combining all the ingredients in a bowl and mix until well combined. Adjust taste accordingly. I added 1 drop of stevia liquid just to balance the taste, but this is optional. Set aside.
3. Heat up a pan with the butter and toast the 3 slices of buns until browned. Set aside.
4. Using the same pan, grill the beef patties. Make the patties thinner. Grill until browned on both sides. Set aside.
5. To assemble the Big Mac, spread the sauce generously on the bottom slice of bun. Then top with shredded lettuce, 1 slice of cheese and patty. Layer with second slice of bun. Spread with sauce then top with shredded lettuce and a few slices of pickled gherkins. Top with second patty, cheese slice and finally the top layer of bun.
6. Enjoy immediately.
